Tuesday Tips: Wellness

Our last two Tuesday tips have been very student friendly, providing tips and support on how to revise properly and pass your tests. With the pressure of exams pretty much over, we’re heading closer and closer to the summer!
Here are some tips for anybody feeling the weight of work, studies or life! Overall tip - look after yourselves - wellness is hugely important for productivity so make sure you’re feeling at your best.
1. Make being healthy a priority
Especially if you’ve been feeling worse for wear: find out what you need! If you’re dehydrated, drink more water, if you’re lethargic, get up earlier and exercise. Trying different kinds of exercise can be daunting, but it’ll be worth it when you find the one you enjoy.
2. Eat consciously
Everything is balance. Have a slice of cake, a family take-out on a Friday or eat ice cream when it’s sunny outside, but make sure you’re getting your fruit and vegetables as well, particularly if you’re finding your deficient in any vitamins.
3. Get enough sleep
Wondering why your sleep isn’t as good as it used to be? Don’t spend the last minutes of your day in bed staring at your screen in the dark, as it can disrupt your melatonin cause your sleep to be restless.
4. And, speaking of phones: Shut off from time to time
Turn your phone off and/or limit your screen time. Read a book or magazine. Start a journal. If you don’t want to turn your phone off, do something that doesn’t involve you interacting your device. Put it on silent and listen to a podcast, or that new album you’ve been meaning to hear while you do something technology free.
5. Have enough ‘me’ time and reflect
Spend the day doing only the things you love that nurture and recharge you, such as a cinema trip, playing video games or meeting friends. Or take time by yourself while you reflect, and do something that keeps you passionate about life! Self-care is necessary every once in a while.
There are so many more things to do to stay well - we’ll be adding more to this very soon!
